Sara Scott workshops, 15th and 16th of July

Sara Scott, from Blenheim will be holding two one day workshops on 15th and 16th of July. You will be able to come to one or both of these workshops.
SATURDAY 15th JULY
BURNISHING, INLAY AND SCRAFFITTO WITH COLOURED CLAYS
Students will throw or slab build several pieces with terracotta clay, which will then dry to leather hard while they learn how to make coloured slips and bodies to apply to them.  These pieces can then be burnished, inlaid and scraffittoed to reveal the colours underneath.  Drawings and other sketched ideas will be ideal to bring to this workshop.  All other materials provided.
SUNDAY 16th JULY 2017
LITHOGRAPHIC PRINTING ON CERAMICS
Either use pieces created the day before (burnished slips on terracotta) or start afresh and learn 'the poor mans litho press'.  This technique relies on photocopies which are reverse printed and it would be great if people could bring their own, although there will be plenty provided.  The method relies on the fact that oil and water don't mix.  All materials provided.  Will be fired to remain permanently on the piece.
